[ Jouno's mood has been even more sour than usual after his impromptu interrogation with Tachihara. He'd told neither Tetcho nor Teruko of his plans to do so, though he'd informed them both of his suspicions even before Fukuchi's own betrayal had been revealed. It's why they'd taken Tachihara to the bar for drinks -- though that felt like forever ago now. So much had changed since then, after all.
He'd been correct in what he'd assumed, which stung in ways that he hadn't expected. While he'd done what he could think of to persuade Tachihara otherwise, he knew that it hadn't been enough. Tachihara would remain conflicted, and worse, he might choose the mafia over them.
How stupid. It's a death sentence to betray the Hunting Dogs.
It's late at night now, and he can't sleep. He knows tomorrow he'll have to report to Teruko, and while he'd intended to tell her first, he doesn't want to sit on the information alone. Not when it feels like it's eating him up inside.
They'd already lost so much as a team. ]
